Srinagar, Jun 25 (KNS) Security forces conducted a joint mock drill at Shadipora Camp in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora district on Thursday to assess preparedness and strengthen security arrangements ahead of the annual Amarnath Yatra, officials said.
The exercise was carried out by Bandipora Police in coordination with personnel of the CRPF, SSB and the Army as part of efforts to ensure the safe and smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.
Officials said the drill was aimed at enhancing inter-agency coordination, testing response mechanisms and evaluating the readiness of security forces to deal with various challenges that may arise during the yatra.
Various simulated scenarios were enacted during the exercise, focusing on rapid response operations, area domination, convoy protection, emergency evacuation procedures and coordinated action among participating agencies.

Senior officers of the police and security forces monitored the drill and reviewed the response of personnel deployed during the exercise.
The officials stressed the need for continued preparedness, vigilance and close coordination among security agencies to ensure a secure environment for pilgrims.
They said the mock drill was part of a series of measures being undertaken to strengthen the security grid ahead of the Amarnath Yatra and reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the safety of pilgrims and the general public during the pilgrimage.(KNS).
