Pulwama July 22 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee today held workers meeting at Cheki Belov area of Pulwama District and urged the Govt to take effective measures to address peoples’ issues especially unemployment menace and various other developmental issues concerning J&K.

Senior Congress leader and Ex.MLC Ghulam Nabi Monga presided over the meeting while Bashir Ahmad Khan and Fayaz Ahmad Dar also addressed the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion Ghulam Nabi Monga laid emphasis over further rejuvenating the Party at grass roots and reaching out to people to highlight their issues for resolution. He said apparently people of J&K have been left at the mercy of bureaucrats in absence of the elected Govt, with the result there is a great anguish and disappointment being witnessed amongst the common people both in Jammu and Kashmir provinces.

It is very unfortunate that obstacles are being created with regard to holding of elections in J&K, Monga added and urged the Centre Govt to pave the way for restoration of democratic setup in J&K, which is bound to ensure representation of people at every appropriate forum. J&K has suffered tremendous losses in terms of development, extreme unemployment has led to a drug menace among the youth due to the wrong policies adopted by BJP Govt.

Congress Party is committed to the cause of serving and strengthening people, there will be no compromise on the urges and aspirations of J&K people who have been made to suffer enormously on every account.

Monga urged the workers to prepare for upcoming ULB and Panchayat Elections and ensure Congress party’s victory with a thumping majority
Addressing the meeting Congress Leaders Bashir Ahmad Khan and Fayaz Ahmad Dar exhorted the party workers to remain vigilant against the divisive agenda of BJP.
