Srinagar, Jul 23 (KNS): A delegation of the Save Youth Save Future Foundation on Thursday called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and expressed gratitude for the administration's ongoing 'Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir' campaign, even as it apprised the LG of its interfaith outreach initiative 'Mulaqat' aimed at fostering communal harmony in the Valley.
The delegation, led by Foundation Chairman Wajahat Farooq Bhat and comprising Women's Wing President Ms Anika Nazir and Zonal President (South Kashmir) Mudasir Dar, met the LG at the Raj Bhavan here.
During the meeting, the representatives lauded the UT administration's concerted efforts in building a drug-free society and appreciated the reach of the anti-narcotics drive, which they said had transformed into a peoples' movement across the region.
The delegates also briefed the Lieutenant Governor about the Foundation's ongoing 'Mulaqat – Interfaith Dialogue' initiative, which, they said, was being carried out across Kashmir to promote peace, mutual understanding and social unity by bringing together various religious and community groups on a common platform.

LG Sinha, who has been personally monitoring the war against drugs and has often termed narco-terrorism a grave threat to the region's future, commended the Foundation for its grassroots-level interventions. He reiterated his appeal to civil society organisations to actively supplement government efforts in weaning away the youth from substance abuse and strengthening the social fabric of the Union Territory.
The LG further assured the delegation of full administrative support for their ongoing and future outreach programmes. (KNS)
