Limited Tatkal slots cannot accommodate unregistered arrivals; Devotees asked to wait for allotted turn

Srinagar, July 3 (KNS): The Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB) on Thursday asked pilgrims to undertake the Amarnath Yatra only after completing advance registration, saying the number of devotees allowed on the route each day is capped in accordance with directions of the Supreme Court.

In an advisory, the Board said advance registration had been opened well before the start of the Yatra through designated bank branches across the country and online platforms, with most pilgrims already securing their slots.

It said Tatkal registration is available only in limited numbers and cannot accommodate the large number of pilgrims arriving in Jammu and Kashmir without prior registration. Those reaching the Union Territory without registration have been asked to wait for their turn and undertake the pilgrimage only on the date allotted by the administration.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The Board also said some registered pilgrims were arriving before the date mentioned on their registration permits. It clarified that no pilgrim would be allowed to proceed on the route before the registered date and advised devotees to plan their travel accordingly.

Reiterating that all pilgrims would be given an opportunity to undertake the Yatra, the Board said this would be subject to the daily ceiling fixed for the route and the available capacity.

It appealed to pilgrims to follow the prescribed procedure and cooperate with the administration to ensure the orderly conduct of the pilgrimage.(KNS)
