Srinagar, 29 Jun(KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference General Secretary and MLA Khanyar, Haji Ali Mohammad Sagar, said that representing the aspirations, sentiments and interests of the people has always been the party's fundamental agenda.
He stated that the National Conference remains steadfast in this commitment and continues to serve the people selflessly while demonstrating transparent, accountable and people-centric governance under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
He made these remarks while interacting with public delegations, party office-bearers and workers from Khanyar constituency and other areas at the party headquarters. During the meeting, Sagar listened to public grievances and immediately contacted the concerned officials to facilitate the resolution of various issues. Party functionaries also briefed him on organisational activities, ongoing programmes, developmental needs and public issues in their respective areas.
Sagar urged party workers and office-bearers to dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to the service of the people and maintain close contact with the public at all times. He said that sustained public outreach has always distinguished the National Conference from other political parties.

Meanwhile, a separate meeting of the Khanyar constituency reviewed developmental works and welfare measures undertaken in the area. Detailed information was presented regarding development projects completed over the past one and a half years, as well as new initiatives currently underway.
The meeting was also informed that a total of Rs 2.04 million (Rs 20.40 lakh) has so far been disbursed from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) among 34 fire-affected families from Nowhatta, Jama Masjid, Chandpora and Naopora in Khanyar Block (B). In addition, six fire-affected families from Tabardar Mohalla, Khanyar, were recently provided interim relief of Rs 120,000 (Rs 1.20 lakh).
Among those present on the occasion were Provincial President Women's Wing Er. Sabiya Qadri, Minority Cell Convener Jagdish Singh Azad, Provincial President YNC Mushtaq Mir, Ayesha Jameel, and other party office-bearers.(KNS)
