JAMMU MARCH 24 (KNS): National Conference Additional General Secretary and former minister Mr Ajay Kumar Sadhotra today slammed the BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh for his political naivety and lack of understanding, saying his rhetoric exposes his little knowledge about sensitive Jammu and Kashmir. Sadhotra was addressing Youth National Conference Meeting of Block Kot Bhalwal at Nardani in Jammu North Assembly Constituency which was organized by Gourav Singh Jamwal Block President Youth National Conference.
Reacting to the remarks of Chugh against the National Conference leadership, Sadhotra, said that being forced on the people of Jammu and Kashmir as so-called BJP incharge does not make him expert on the sensitivities of this part of the country, which his ilk tend to be after visiting the state as political adventurers.
Sadhotra asked a pointed question to Mr Chugh as to what and how much he knows about the contribution of National Conference leadership, especially Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Abdullah, Dr Farooq Abdullah and Mr Omar Abdullah. Mr Chugh should get his facts checked and he will know that the NC leadership tied the destiny of J&K with MahatmaGandhi’s secular India by rejecting the two-nation theory, worked in a mission mode for upholding the dignity of the people, remained in the forefront during horrendous days of the Partition holocaust and fought tirelessly elements inimical to peace. On the contrary, the BJP worked against the interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, bruised the psyche of the people by snatching its special status and fragmented the state into two Union Territories.
Mr Chugh must get his brief well about the sacrifices made by the National Conference cadre during the past over three decades for the larger interest of peace and stability, he added. He further said that Ministers, Legislators and thousands of National Conference workers sacrificed theirlives.
Sadhotra said if Mr Chugh is so confident about his party’s standing in Jammu and Kashmir, why double engine sarkar of BJP had been resisting the elections for the past ten years. While the people of Jammu and Kashmir are anxious to show the BJP its right place in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. And also the polls to the Legislative Assembly, whenever held, will witness the total rout of the saffron party from this part of the country, especially “Lakhanpur Ke Paar”.
Mr Sadhotra advised the BJP leadership in general and Tarun Chugh in particular to have a feel of the public outrage across Jammu and Kashmir against anti-people policies by the present dispensation at the Centre and through proxies in J&K. In the YNC meeting, following activists were nominated as office bearers of the Block.

Mr Sadhotra congratulated the newly appointed officer bearers and hoped that they will work hard to take programmes and policies of National Conference at every door step and work hard to ensure success in ensuing Parliamentary Elections where National Conference has alliance with Congress.
