RGM beneficiaries from Kashmir to participate in Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi*

Srinagar, January 23 (KNS): A group of 17 Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM) beneficiaries and MAITRIs (Multipurpose Artificial Insemination Technicians in Rural India) was flagged off today to take part in the Republic Day Celebrations in New Delhi.

The group was flagged off by CEO Livestock Development Board, Kashmir Shri Altaf Ahmad Laway in presence of other dignitaries.

On the occasion Shri Laway said that it is a matter of pride to have our Rashtriya Gokul Mission beneficiaries and MAITRIs as recipients of special invitation from the central government to participate in the Republic Day Parade 2024. This is for the first time such an initiative is taken by Central Government to boost the morale of Rashtriya Gokul Mission beneficiaries, he added.

Shri Laway further highlighted that their participation in the Republic Day Parade is an accolade of their contribution to providing services in the livestock sector in Kashmir division. The initiative will prove to be a good platform to showcase the contribution of Rashtriya Gokul Mission in fostering sustainable livestock development and promoting the well-being of rural communities across the region.

Under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission unemployed Individuals are trained and deployed in Animal Husbandry sector, who serve as MAITRIs - Multipurpose Artificial Insemination Technicians in Rural India. These skilled professionals receive incentives, including Rs. 100 for the first Artificial Insemination, Rs. 200 for the second, and Rs. 100 for each subsequent birth, as part of the CSS-RGM (Centrally Sponsored Scheme - Rashtriya Gokul Mission).(KNS)
