Residential house collapse due to heavy rainfall in Rajouri

Rajouri January 06:(KNS) Due to heavy rainfall during the past few days in Peer Panjal areas like Budhal , Khawas and adjoining area of Kotranka Subdistrict of Rajouri district, number of houses were partially or fully damaged in hilly areas due to lightning and land sliding.

One kachha house of Mohd yousaf of Sayari village of Kotranka Subdistrict damaged due to heavy rain fall and many other houses received severe cracks due to heavy rains and land sliding .

Political and social activist Muhammad Farooq Inqalabi has demanded from the District Development Commissioner Rajouri to assess the damage caused by heavy rains in Budhal, Khawas, Kotranka and Peeri areas and provide adequate compensation to the people. He said that the houses of many people have been affected due to landslides in Kandra Targain village of Budhal area while the houses of many poor people have collapsed due to lightning in Darman village and sheep and goats have also died. People have suffered a lot because of this.

He said that people have also suffered in Panchayat Gunda, Keri, Bhela, Dhaliri, Gadyog, Bai Nambal, Draj, Samote , Shahpur, Kewal, Dandote, PHALNI And Gabber which should be immediately reviewed and help should be given to the people. He also demanded from the District Development Commissioner to form review committees at the panchayat level which would review the damage caused by rains in their respective panchayats and hand over the complete information to the administration so that the people can get reasonable compensation.

When contacted with ADC kotranka he told that soon a team will be dispatched to review the loss caused due to rains.(KNS)
