In a statement issued to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) Kashmir University said, the pact was signed at the Office of the UoK Vice Chancellor, marking a crucial step towards integrating specialized national security curricula with mainstream higher education in the valley. The MoU was executed by Dr. Mahesh Tripathi, Director of the RRU's Jammu and Kashmir Campus, and Prof. (Dr.) Naseer Iqbal, Registrar of the University of Kashmir.

 

The signing ceremony was held in the presence of senior academicians, including UoK Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Neelofar Khan, Prof. (Dr.) Mehraj Ud Din Mir (Lifetime Professor, RRU), and Prof. (Dr.) Shahnaz, Head and Dean of the UoK School of Law.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelSenior functionaries Dr. Ashfaq Ahmad Zari, Dr. Mudasir Bhat, and Dr. Mohammad Yaseen Wani were also present on the occasion.

 

Officials stated that the MoU envisages a comprehensive framework for collaboration in multidisciplinary domains. The partnership will focus on joint research initiatives, faculty and student exchange programmes, and student internships. A key feature of the agreement includes the provision for credit transfers under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), facilitating academic flexibility for students.

 

The collaboration is set to make significant strides in teacher training, consultation, and skill development, specifically targeting critical sectors such as national security, behavioral and forensic science, law, police administration, and criminology. The partnership is seen as a strategic move to bridge the gap between academic research and the practical requirements of internal security and policing in the region the statement further reads.
