Ramadhan Crescent Sighted, Fasting to Commence in J&K from tomorrow: Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam

 SRINAGAR, Mar 11(KNS): The Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti Nasir ul Islam Farooqi, has officially announced the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan after the sighting of the Ramadan moon.

Confirming the sighting of the crescent of 1445 A.H in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti Farooqi declared that the first day of fasting will begin tomorrow. This announcement came after consultations with other esteemed members.

In his message, Mufti Farooqi extended greetings to the people and offered prayers for the Almighty Allah to alleviate hardships and bestow blessings upon everyone during this sacred time.

He expressed hopes for peace and prosperity to prevail throughout the month.

The sighting of the Ramadan moon marks the beginning of a significant period for Muslims worldwide, characterized by fasting, prayer, reflection, and acts of charity. Muslims observe this month as a time of spiritual growth, self-discipline, and heightened devotion to Allah.(KNS).
