BANDIPORA, MAY 06 (KNS): Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, on Tuesday chaired a Mega Block Diwas programme at High School Ketson in Aloosa block, where she reviewed ongoing development works and listened to public grievances.
The programme saw active participation from officers of various departments, local residents, and students. Cultural performances by students added vibrancy to the event.
During the interaction, residents raised several issues, including delays in ration cards, poor road connectivity, irregular LPG supply, lack of transport facilities, tourism development, the Lolab-Bandipora road, shortage of playground space, and water scarcity.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner said that the area has witnessed noticeable improvement in basic infrastructure. She highlighted that the road up to Ketson has already been macadamised, mobile connectivity is available, Anganwadi Centres are functioning smoothly, and the local school has adequate infrastructure.
She assured the public that all pending issues identified during the programme would be taken up on priority.
On the issue of the school approach road, the concerned Executive Engineer informed that it has already been included under the Cities and Towns Plan.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe CAPD department assured that eligible families would be provided ration cards once the required quota is received.
The ARTO informed that sumo services are currently operating on the route, while efforts are underway to introduce mini-bus services.
Health officials stated that Health and Wellness Centres at Ketson and Binlipora are functioning properly. On tourism, the Deputy Commissioner urged locals to submit proposals for promoting tourism and developing homestay facilities.
Taking note of the demand for sports infrastructure, she directed the concerned Patwari to identify suitable land for a playground and assured that additional sports kits would be provided to local youth. She also instructed the BDO and Tehsildar to prepare a proposal for constructing a community hall.
Expressing concern over reports of poppy cultivation, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned SHO to submit a detailed report within 48 hours.
The programme was attended by senior district and sectoral officers, including ACP, CMO, CEO, ARTO, Executive Engineers of PHE, PDD, R&B, and PMGSY, Tehsildar and BDO Aloosa, LDM Bandipora, and officers from Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Agriculture, Labour, Sheep Husbandry, and Food departments.(KNS)
