Srinagar, Sep 23 (KNS): Students of SKUAST on Wednesday expressed grief and shock over the demise of professor Abdul Rasheed and has prayed for the departed soul.
In a condolence message the students of SKUAST said he was an inspiration for the students and was one of the founder faculty member of FVSC and AH, SKUAST.
He rose to position of Associate Director Research at undivided SKUAST and was in charge of academics at FVSc & AH during the most difficult times. Scientific contributions as Professor of Veterinary Public Health apart, he was a notch disciplinarian. It was because of his parental approach and charismatic character that when mass copying, and other mal-practices were ruling roost throughout the valley in 1990s he was able to conduct examinations at Veterinary Faculty without an iota of mal-practice. He was able to earn the trust and confidence of all his students and groomed them not only as technocrats but also good and upright human beings. At his demise we the students of first five batches of FVSc & AH, SKUAST pay our heartfelt homage and respect to the great teacher, the great human being and the stalwart of SKUAST. (KNS)
