Agricultural runoff, industrial discharge, and untreated sewage contaminate wetland waters with heavy metals, pesticides, and nutrients, endangering aquatic life and compromising water quality. The lack of attention from concerned departments exacerbates the issue, as insufficient monitoring and enforcement allow pollutants to accumulate unchecked.Climate change adds another layer of complexity to the degradation of wetlands in Kashmir.
