PM Modi speaks to Palestinian president day after Gaza hospital deaths


Srinagar, Oct 20 (KNS): A day after Israel launched air strike on a hospital in Gaza, killing over 500 people PM Modi on Thursday said he spoke to Palestinian president Mohamoud Abbas to convey his condolences at the loss of civilian lives.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi said that they will continue to send humanitarian assistance for the Palestinian people. 

He also said that he reiterated India's long-standing principled position on the Israel-Palestine issue.

“Spoke to the President of the Palestinian Authority H.E. Mahmoud Abbas. Conveyed my condolences at the loss of civilian lives at the Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza. We will continue to send humanitarian assistance for the Palestinian people. Shared our deep concern at the terrorism, violence and deteriorating security situation in the region. Reiterated India's long-standing principled position on the Israel-Palestine issue,” he said. (KNS)
