No mention of statehood, assembly elections, old promises - unfortunate says Congress

No mention of statehood, assembly elections, old promises - unfortunate says Congress

Srinagar, March 7 (KNS): Congress has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modiji has disappointed the entire people of Jammu & Kashmir by not announcing the restoration of statehood & avoiding the core issues of restoration of democracy, snatching of land & job rights, record unemployment and unprecedented price rise, tax Terorism, issues of daily wagers & other temporary employees  & various such categories who had pinned hopes on his visit.

According to a statment issued to KNS, reads that Reacting to PM' speach in Srinagar in an official rally attended by large number of government employees, JKPCC termed it an old rhetoric and pre election rally targeting opposition especially those with whom BJP enjoyed power in the past. At that time  all these serious allegations of mismanagement etc were either ignored for power or not known to Modiji& BJP, JKPCC Senior Vice President Incharge Media Ravinder Sharma questioned.

The  political aspect of prime minister's speach was on expected lines but it was expected that instead of claiming credit for some of the UPA projects like medical colleges and two cancer Institutes and ignoring the massive ddevelopment like roads, railways, health, education & other fields in the past also, during previous governments including few of BJP led or shared governments at centre, he would refer to the commitment before the house and the hon'ble Supreme Court about restoration of illegally snatched statehood & holding of assembly and other elections after over five years now.

Lakhs of unemployed youth, daily wagers, need based, contractuals & other temporary employees as well regular employees were expecting something for them in the pre election  tour of Modiji but returned disappointed & left high and dry.

J&K was one of the erstwhile state having large share of recruitments in the past in the armed forces but the youth are frustrated due to Agniveer scheme which has shattered their dreams.

Similarly the prime minister should have also tasked the the UT administration for large scale recruitment scams in J&K when he referred to the Jk bank recruitments during their coalition regime while there are also reports of some Senior most BJP leaders too have taken undue advantage of jk bank and caused loss to the jk bank. Congress fully supports any process to cleaning the system in a fair and unbiased manner sparing none but any selective approach would not be justified. Any step to clear clouds over the serious allegation of former governor Satya pal Malik ji and investigation in to jal jeewan mission affairs, would be highly welcome, he added.

PM also referred to the development and various welfare schemes, which of course is a continuous process of the governments and is a welcome step aimed to improve the lives of people, although many of these schemes are the extensions of the past or with a change of nomenclature. We urge the Prime Minister to expedite the work on ongoing projects for early completion & commissioning  especially those inaugurated by him but still incomplete.some of the forgotten promises of development like the vital Jammu- Poonch railway project and other commitments of 2013 rally should be fulfilled, he added, before the announcement of general elections, in  few days.(KNS)
