PDPs activist explicitly criticize Late Mufti for failing to address persistent power crisis: Sheikh Imran

Srinagar, Nov 23 (KNS): Former Deputy Mayor Sheikh Imran Thursday asserted that activists of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) showed courage and explicitly criticized Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for tackling power woes in J&K.

Quoting PDPs protest program against ongoing unscheduled power curtailment, the former Deputy Mayor Sheikh Imran said that PDP supporters' frustration appears to stem from a prolonged power supply issue in Jammu and Kashmir, as conveyed in the protester's poignant statement emphasizing the crisis dating back to 2004 an year when Mufti Mohammed Syed first became Chief Minister of J&K.

He said the message of protesting lady specifically identifies leaders, including Mufti Mohammad Saeed, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Umar Abdullah, and Mehbooba Mufti, attributing failures to address the persistent electricity problem over the past two decades.
Noteworthy is the protester's affiliation with PDP, despite explicitly criticizing late Mufti Muhammad Saeed and Mehbooba Mufti for their perceived inability to tackle the electricity crisis, he said.

He also said this seeming contradiction raises questions about the coherence of the protestor, protest's message, hinting at a blend of frustration rather than a clearly defined grievance.

The plea for intervention from the Office of the LG J&K implies a desire for a resolution beyond party lines, signaling the seriousness of the situation. He said the concerns voiced by the demonstrators, foster hope for tangible and effective action from LG Manoj Sinha.

It appears that she is more impressed with the LG administration than with her party and its leadership, he said and added, the protester's expression of support for the LG administration over her own party and its leadership raises questions about her motives.

It could be interpreted as a sign of confusion or frustration, as it suggests a lack of confidence in her party's ability to address the issues, he said.

Alternatively, it could convey a belief that the LG administration is more capable, emphasizing it as the sole source of hope for effective action. “The preference for the LG administration—is all that is communicated by this protester,” he added. (KNS)
