Srinagar, Mar 8 (KNS):PDP MLA Waheed Parra has raised questions over the Jammu and Kashmir government’s recent move to acquire 1 lakh kanals of land for the development of townships.
Parra demanded clarification on who the land is being acquired for, as the government claims the townships will benefit the people of J&K. Earlier, the former Chief Minister and his advisor had denied any proposals for such townships. However, the Housing and Urban Development Department has now written to acquire vast amounts of land, sparking further confusion.
Parra emphasized the need for transparency and an environmental assessment before proceeding with such large-scale land acquisitions and developments. (KNS)
