Says bonhomie between two parties for power only, not public welfare

Srinagar, Mar 15 (KNS): Senior CPI (M) leader and MLA Kulgam, Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami on Thursday said that the agenda of alliance was created on opportunistic grounds and the government has no concern for the people of Kashmir.
“CPI (M) from the beginning has been repeatedly telling that BJP and PDP alliance exists on opportunistic grounds. Both the political parties fought elections on parallel lines and that contradiction between the duos still exists even after the alliance,” said Tarigami.
He added that the only common element between the two political parties is that they want to share the power only and there is nothing more than that is involved.
“The present government has no concern for the people of the state. By now the government should have started certain channels of communication for the people of Kashmir who have suffered a lot.”
Reacting to the PDP’s decision of sacking Drabu, Tarigami said that It is not clear why was Drabu removed.
He said that there were two points-men in both the parties, Ram Madhav from BJP and Haseeb Drabu from the PDP. "Now that Drabu is gone, we are unaware who will be replacing Drabu."
Senior CPI (M) leader said that the problem of Jammu and Kashmir has been there since the accession of the state to the Indian union and its political nature cannot be overlooked.
He added that those who are in power in India, Pakistan, and Kashmir should create a platform where the Kashmir issue would be addressed.
“The government by now should realize that the cycle of violence should end as it is high time for them to sit together and end this history of tragedies. They should create a solution that is acceptable to all,” he added. (KNS)
