'Constitutional guarantee for rights on land, jobs main issues of concern'

Srinagar, August 4 (KNS): Chairman People's Democratic Front (PDF) Hakeem Yaseen has reiterated his resolve to fight for restoration of the democratic and constitutional rights  of the people of Jammu and kashmir.

  Statement issued to Kashmir news Service reads, "PDF will take all the possible political and legal steps in a democratic and peaceful manner to restore all the fundamental rights guaranteed under the Constitution of India, Hakeem Yaseen said on Wednesday while urging the central government to take urgent measures to remove mistrust and alienation among the people of Jammu and kashmir. He said unilateral decision to bifurcate and downgrade the state into two union territories and usurping it's special status has hurt  sentiments of the common people.

He said Central government should restore all the constitutional and democratic rights of the people to win  thier hearts and minds . He said the step would go a long way to restore peace in  trouble torn jammu and kashmir and also to address prevailing alienation among the masses.

      PDF Chairman has said that the people of jammu and Kashmir are primarily peace loving and want to live a peaceful life with dignity and honour adding that the way thier aspirations were trampled by post August 5 , 2019 decisions , they have been left  in great shock and disappointment. " There was an urgent need  for immediate  reconcilatory measures to remove mistrust among the people of jammu and Kashmir, " Hakeem Yaseen added.

He has asked the Centre to ensure constitutional guarantee to the rights of domicile  people on jobs and land, he said which was the main issue of concern.

He said people of jammu and Kashmir and mainstream political parties were demanding restoration of thier fundamental rights as guaranteed under the Constitution of india adding that it was  obligation on the part of Central government to satiate thier urges in this regard.

He asked the Center to address the problem of Kashmir by rising above vested political interests and try to resolve all issues while keeping in view overall interests of the country. " Alienating people of jammu and kashmir from the mainstream for gaining political milage would be a  dis- service to the nation, " PDF Chairman observed adding that  posterity would never forgive  for commiting such a blunder.(KNS)
