PDD engineers threaten one-day protest leave against adhocism on Sep 09

Srinagar, Aug 29 (KNS): Engineers working in Power Development Department (PDD) on Tuesday threatened to go on one-day protest leave against pending demands on September 09.

"On 09 September all HOD's to JE's will go on protest leave against adhocism and other genuine issues," PDD engineers as per KNS said while addressing a press conference here in Srinagar.

They said the department has miserably failed to address HR issues, which unfortunately have not been resolved till date. "All grade power engineers of J&K PDD will go for one-day protest leave on September 09 against injustices done with employees who are giving their blood and sweet during odd and even times. The protest will be done at Bemina against inordinate delay in resolving our demands," they said.

About regularisations, they said many engineers who have been asked to hold charge of higher rank are still getting salaries of erstwhile positions instead of new ones. They are continously getting salaries of their previous grades. "In last 30 years they have never been elevated to higher grades," they said.

Citing an example, the PDD engineers told media persons that those IAS and KAS officers working in Civil Secretariat are getting due grades and perks, but unfortunately PDD engineers have been forced to suffer badly.

"In recent past we met Principal Secretary of the J&K government at Raj Bhawan and besides a petition of signatures was submitted to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha two weeks ago with an aim to pay due attention to our grievances but all turned futile.

They appealed to LG led administration to take a compassionate look on their issues and resolve their long pending demands at the earliest.  "The salaries should be given as per due right, vacancies should be filled without any delay and appointments should be made tolessen the burden on existing employees".
