Srinagar 13 February (KNS): People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration bagged chairman and vice chairperson post in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, voting for which was held on Saturday in District Adminstration complex Bandipora.

Official sources told News Agency-Kashmir news service  that National Conference’s Abdul Gani Bhat was elected as chairperson while PDP’s Kousar Shafeeq was elected as Vice-Chairperson.

Abdul Gani Bhat of National conference became victorious after bagging total of seven votes against his nearest rival Firdousa Akhter of Apni Party.

Whileas,  Kounsar Shafeeq of people’s Democratic party became the vice Chairperson  after bagging eight votes against her nearest rival Tahir Qadri, who was contesting the elections as an independent candidate.

13 DDC members including five from NC, three of PDP, two each from Apni Party and Independent, and one each from Congress and BJP participated in the election process.(KNS)
