Srinagar, Oct 09 (KNS): In Zaloora Zainageer, located on the outskirts of North Kashmir's Baramulla district, newly installed garbage bins are causing distress among the local residents as they overflow with waste.

Although the Rural Development Department (RDD) of Block Tujar Sharif recently placed these bins along the roads to promote cleanliness, locals have expressed their frustration, stating that the situation on the ground paints a different picture. They are troubled by the foul odors emanating from the overflowing bins, and pedestrians fear walking difficulties and potential health risks.

Furthermore, people informed a similar situation with garbage bins in various areas adjacent to Block Tajar Sharif, with some bins even being vandalized or set on fire.

Residents are urging the concerned department to promptly address this issue and clean the bins to prevent further inconvenience.

Efforts to reach out to the concerned Block Development Officer (BDO), Nazir Ahmed, for comment were unsuccessful as he did not respond to our phone calls. The community anxiously awaits a resolution to this pressing matter.(KNS)
