Srinagar, Jun 30 (KNS): More than 4.49 lakh stakeholders, including students, parents, teachers and community members, participated in the fourth round of mass Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) conducted across schools in Kashmir, the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) said on Monday.
The meetings were organised simultaneously in 5,333 schools across the Valley as part of the academic calendar for the 2026 session, the directorate said in a statement.
According to official figures, the participants included 3,10,890 students, 1,05,673 parents and community members, and 32,578 teachers and school heads.
DSEK Director Naseer Ahmad Wani thanked parents and local communities for their participation and said the large turnout reflected a growing partnership between schools and families in improving educational outcomes.
The PTMs focused on students’ academic progress, behavioural development and overall well-being, while also providing a platform for parents to interact directly with teachers and school administrators, the statement said.

Senior education officials, including Chief Education Officers, monitored the meetings and addressed concerns raised by parents during the interactions.
Wani directed officers and teaching staff to act on the feedback received during the meetings and ensure timely follow-up on issues highlighted by parents, the directorate added.
The successful conduct of the fourth round of mass PTMs reaffirmed the department’s commitment to community participation, transparency and continuous improvement in the school education sector across Kashmir, the statement said.(KNS).
