Srinagar, Oct 16 (KNS): The Inspector General of Police Kashmir zone, Vijay Kumar on Saturday said that it is not possible to provide security of all soft targets in the Kashmir Valley.

As per Kashmir News Service (KNS), talking to reporters at Press Enclave here, the IGP said that it is not possible to identify such targeted killings beforehand. “Politicians always target security personnels by giving irrelevant statements of security lapse but our police force is working professionally every minute to eliminate these elements behind the recent civilian killings.” 

He also said that two militants including a top LeT commander, Umar Mushtaq Khanday, who was involved in the killing of two police personnel at Baghat area of Srinagar, are trapped in the ongoing encounter in Pampore.

“In the month of October, 9 encounters took place in which 11 militants have been killed which is a huge success for the security personnel. We are absolutely sure that these two militants will also be eliminated soon,” he added.

The IGP said that there is no lapse of security in any way. “Kashmir Police has neutralized the two militants who were involved in recent killings and the remaining three militants involved in all those attacks will also be eliminated soon.” 

He said that, it is our profession and "we know how to deal with these kinds of situations. A doctor knows how to cure a patient, same goes with the security personnels".

He said that the Police have been working hard since the first civilian killing and in future also they will handle these elements professionally.

Replying to a question, IGP said that, corroborator of the militants who killed two teachers at Eidgah Srinagar was a Pakistani militant and soon he will be identified and eliminated. 

“Police are on duty and will surely identify and neutralize all these bad elements,” the IGP said.(KNS)
