Srinagar, June 30 (KNS):Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Naseer Ahmad Wani, on Tuesday said that no decision has been taken regarding summer vacations in schools across Kashmir and that a final decision is likely to be made by today evening or tomorrow.
Speaking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Wani dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that the Jammu and Kashmir Government had announced summer vacations from July 1, saying the claims were false and baseless.
A decision regarding summer vacations will be taken by today evening or tomorrow. Every single day of schooling is important for students, and we must keep that in mind.

He urged people not to believe rumours being circulated on various social media platforms, saying no official order has been issued regarding the closure of schools from July 1.
It is pertinent to mention that Kashmir has been experiencing intense heatwave conditions over the past several days, with temperatures remaining well above normal in many areas.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has forecast rainfall and wet weather from July 1 as the monsoon is expected to reach the region, bringing likely relief from the ongoing heatwave.
