Nizamuddin Bhat urges Waqf Board to offer financial help to poor, needy on Eid-ul-Azha

Srinagar, June 27 (KNS): Former vice-chairman Jammu and Kashmir Waqf board Nizamuddin Bhat has urged on the Waqf authorities to extend possible financial help to poor and needy on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha as part of its relief activities.

Bhat, in a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that it has been tradition where this institution offers assistance on festivals from collections in Baitulmal filled with donations at shrines of the Muslim community.

He said that the coming Eid is an occasion which falls amid rising financial distress here and supportive institutions as Waqf needs to come forward with more generosity than usual and offer support to make the poor people’s Eid as joyful as for the affluents.

He said how better it would have been that poor patients suffering from fatal diseases in hospitals here and deprived children in the orphanages were seen as target beneficiaries as an identifiable lot besides those who apply for assistance on various grounds for help and support.

Bhat while pointing out how human and religious it is to reach the poor patients in hospitals, children in destitute homes and deprived at the doors of Waqf, he hoped that the authorities will feel obliged than constrained to extend a helping hand. (KNS)
