Larmi alleges beating of families of militants in Kulgam area


Jammu, Jan 22 (KNS): The opposition members in the legislative assembly here on Monday created an uproar over lathicharge on Gujjars who were protesting against the recent murder and rape of a minor girl in Hiranagar area of Kathua district in Jammu province.
According to the KNS correspondent, as the house started its proceedings MLA Khansahib and Chairman Peoples' Democratic Front Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen and Congress legislator G M Saroori raised the issue of Lathicharge on the Gujjars during protests against the murder of a minor girl in Hiranagar area of Kathua district.
The legislators alleged that many Gujjars were injured and admitted in the local hospitals.
Amid cries against lathicharge on Gujjars in Kathua district during protests against the murder of minor girl in Kathua district, the National Conference MLA representing Home Shalibugh constituency of south Kashmir in the assembly alleged the families of some militants are being targeted by government forces and cited some incidents which according to him occurred in Redwani area of Kulgam district.
The time when Chief Minister was present in the house Larmi asked "if someone is a militants, does it mean forces are at liberty to punish his family and ransack, houses, vehicles and other immovable and movable properties“. (KNS)
