Anantnag, Sept 10 (KNS): Apni Party President, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari Sunday said that NC and PDP should repent for their wrongdoings they committed in their times with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said Apni Party don't don't want to be in power corridors for personal gains but to serve and empower people of the region.
"I'm not holding responsible PDP only but NC as well. If NC had remained in power corridors for 50 years in past, PDP also had been for 20 years. So both parties are accountable in public domain for their wrongdoings they committed in their times in J&K," Altaf Bukhari exclusively told KNS in south Kashmir's Anantnag.
"Being a part of PDP in past, I am also accountable for my three years I served in the government," Bukhari added and asserted, "I along with my fellow political leaders have mended their ways and started to represent true whims and aspirations of our people".
He said God has saved me in 2016 when PDP was in power and innocents were getting killed mercilessly in streets but I was not part of the government then. While absolving himself, Bukhari said the coalition of PDP-BJP formed but I vociferously cleared my stand before Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in a one-to-one meeting and despite that the Union of the two parties came into being. Hope Mehbooba Mufti Saheba will clear the air in near future about my stand.
Hailing Government of India for ensuring peaceful atmosphere in J&K, Bukhari said "The government should not exclude any person, group or party in making J&K a peaceful abode. This should be made inclusive. All should be roped in the process and narrations like only this and that should be invited for talks should be avoided. The GoI should talk to every person, party or group keeping aside what their political ideologies had been in past," he said.
To a query he said Apni Party since its inception was ready for assembly elections in J&K with an aim to serve people. "We are ready for assembly elections from the day one. We don't want to be in power for personal interests, rather to serve and empower people of J&K who are feeling disempowered for many years. (KNS)
