Srinagar May 02:(KNS) Student Leader and National Spokesperson of J&K Students Association Nasir Khuehami here on today extended greetings of Eid-ul-Fitr to the people, praying for the peace and tranquillity of the Jammu and Kashmir Union territory. Khuehami, in a statement issued said that the festival of Eid is a unique and special occasion leading the mankind at the path of peace, harmony and truthfulness.
The spirit behind the observance of Eid Ul Fitr, which marks the end of month-long fasting, is to express our thanks to Almighty Allah for giving us courage to observe fast in the month of Ramazan and rededicate ourselves to truthfulness, sincerity, self-control, and patience showing complete obedience to Allah, he said.
Urging the people to celebrate Eid with simplicity, Khuehami said that Allah commands us to be not amongst those who indulge in extravagance, which he dislikes. He wished the people peace, progress, prosperity and happiness and hoped that this occasion would be a harbinger of communal harmony, brotherhood and amity.
Khuehami underlined the need of remembering economically downtrodden and underprivileged people in the J&K Union Territory on the occasion. He said celebrating Eid teaches us friendship, mutual respect and love for the masses. He appealed people to remember their neighbours, orphans and the needy during Eid celebrations.(KNS)
