Nasir Khuehami Calls on NCPs' Dr Jitendra Awhad

 Srinagar, Aug 19(KNS): Student leader and National Convenor of J&K Students Association on Saturday called on Former Cabinet Minister and Leader of Opposition Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Dr Jitendra Awhad at his Residence in Thane Mumbai in Maharashtra.

During meeting, Khuehami exchanged views vis-a-vis various issues pertaining to J&K Students studying in the Maharashtra state and apprised him about various issues related to Jammu and Kashmiri students and other youth-related programs and policies.

Khuehami informed LoP that he had interacted with 150 Kashmiri students from various colleges and universities in Maharashtra over the past three days as a part of outreach Program. Based on their testimonials, there have been no reports of harassment or mistreatment of Kashmiri students and felt safe in the State. They have found Maharashtra, a safe state for Kashmiris. He emphasized that Pune has become a second home for these students, providing a safe and welcoming environment. He expressed gratitude for the dignity and respect shown to Kashmiri students in the Maharashtra.

He praised the sensitivity and accommodation of Maharashtra residents and highlighted his own positive experiences interacting with the people of the State. He said that, students from Kashmir should come Maharashtra and pursue their dreams.
During the meeting, he exchanged views about the importance of fostering communal harmony and cooperation and stressed the need to strengthen cultural ties and unity between the two regions. He informed, Leader of Opposition that, Our Outreach program aims to strengthen cultural ties, fostering understanding and unity between the two regions.

He said that, he is touring different party of the country and meeting people from revered backgrounds and across party lines. The purpose of this ongoing tour across the country to focus on matters related to the safety & well-being.

Awhad appreciated the efforts of Khuehami for the welfare of students especially in unprecedented times of uncertainties and taking youth- centric initiatives and engagement programs across the Country. He impressed upon him to keep projecting the issues of youth welfare and development of the Union territory.(KNS).
