“Youth JKPC President Mudasir Karim Decries Extensive Wait and Uncertainty Amid Exam Chaos and Legal Obstacles”, thousands of aspirants in distress and uncertainty.

Srinagar October 4 (KNS): In a startling revelation, YJKPC (Youth Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference) President Mudasir Karim has strongly voiced his concerns regarding the alarming situation surrounding the recruitment process for JKPSI (Jammu and Kashmir Police Sub-Inspector) and JE-Civil (Junior Engineer – Civil) positions in the Union Territory. This protracted and tumultuous process has wreaked havoc on the social, mental, and financial well-being of aspirants, leaving their futures hanging in the balance.

The turmoil began when the initial JKPSI exam, along with two other posts, was conducted in March of the previous year but was subsequently scrapped due to discrepancies. Following this setback, the exams were rescheduled and conducted by Aptech for JE-Civil between December 5 and 6, 2022, and JKPSI between December 7 and 20, 2022, with assurances of fairness and transparency from the honorable Lieutenant Governor.

However, the process took another hit when a judgment on a case related to the tendering process was delivered on December 8, 2022, resulting in a temporary halt. It was only after a stay was granted by the Double Bench on December 9, 2022, with the condition that the results of JKPSI and JE-Civil would not be declared unless directed by the court, that the process resumed.

“Mudasir Karim in a statement said that the prolonged delay In declaring results has forced aspirants to endure the grueling task of writing the same exam twice, adding unnecessary stress to their already challenging journeys. Notably, while several other exams conducted by Aptech have seen their results declared, the fate of JKPSI and JE-Civil aspirants remains uncertain”.

In a glimmer of hope, the High Court delivered its judgment on August 31, 2023, finding no anomalies in the conduct of these exams. A report was expected to be submitted within the next 10 days, based on which the Chief Secretary would convey his decision to the Secretary of JKSSB. However, no discernible progress has been made since this judgment, leaving aspirants in despair.

Karim stated that It's essential to recognize that JKPSI is not a single-stage exam; it involves mastering syllabi and physical fitness assessments, making it a time-consuming process. The delayed results have only added to the stress and anxiety faced by aspirants who aspire to achieve high ranks in these exams.

Thousands of aspirants and their families have been held hostage by this seemingly endless recruitment process, and they are not at fault for the undue delays. The trauma of having to retake the same exam, coupled with the stress of scoring well again, has pushed the mental health of these aspiring candidates to the brink.

Mudasir Karim has emphatically highlighted the distressing plight of aspirants who have endured a nearly two-year-long wait since the announcement of JKPSI recruitment on October 21, 2021. These dedicated individuals, with a burning desire to contribute to their community and create a brighter future, have been left in a state of prolonged suffering and uncertainty. Urgent action is now imperative to provide them with the closure and clarity they deserve.(KNS)
