Jammu, July 22(KNS): National Conference Member of Parliament Mian Altaf Ahmad had a narrow escape on Wednesday after his official vehicle was struck by rocks and debris during a landslide while he was assessing rain and landslide-hit areas along the Jammu-Poonch National Highway.
Officials said the incident occurred when boulders and loose earth suddenly came crashing down from a hillside, hitting the vehicle carrying the MP. Despite the impact, Mian Altaf and his team escaped unharmed.

The landslide forced authorities to suspend traffic on the highway for some time as road clearance teams were rushed to the site to remove the debris and ensure safe passage.
Officials advised commuters to avoid non-essential travel on the Jammu-Poonch highway and follow official traffic advisories until the route is fully cleared and declared safe for movement.(KNS)
