Srinagar, July 31 (KNS) : Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi today welcomed the approval of two long-pending road projects in Uri and Sopore, saying the development reflects MP Baramulla Er Rashid's unwavering commitment to addressing the genuine concerns of the people despite his prolonged incarceration.
Inam Un Nabi said that from Jail through his lawyer, MP Baramulla Er Rashid had consistently taken up developmental issues affecting remote areas of the Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency. He recalled that through D.O. Letter No. MP/BLA/2025/77 dated 02-07-2025, addressed to the Secretary, Roads & Buildings Department, MP Er Rashid had strongly urged the government to repair and upgrade the Harwan to Marble Road via Yemberzalwari in Sopore, highlighting the immense hardships faced by local residents due to decades of official neglect.
Inam Un Nabi further said that Er Rashid, through D.O. Letter No. MP/BLA/2025/81 dated 24-07-2025, addressed to the Principal Secretary, Public Works (R&B) Department, had sought the upgradation of the Government High School Bimyar to Ziarat Sharif Moriyan Road in Uri, describing it as a vital road for the people of Moriyan and adjoining villages.
"The people had waited for years for these roads. Today, it is satisfying to see that their voices have finally been heard and translated into action," Inam Un Nabi said.

Inam Un Nabi said the Government has now approved both projects and floated tenders through the Office of the Chief Engineer, PMGSY (JKRRDA), Kashmir under E-NIT No. 03/CE/PMGSY/KMR of 2026-27 dated 15-06-2026. The Uri road has been tendered as Package No. JK03-4544, covering the construction and maintenance of the road from L028 (Link Road) Bimyar to Mooriya via Pethgrann, while the Sopore project has been tendered as Package No. JK03-4011, covering the construction and maintenance of the road from L075 (Link Road) Bomia-Harwan-Zaloora (3rd KM) to Yemberzaewari.
Inam Un Nabi said these approvals once again prove that Er Rashid has remained deeply connected with the aspirations of his constituents and has continued to work for their welfare under the most challenging circumstances. He said the approval of these projects is a significant step towards improving connectivity and easing the daily hardships faced by thousands of people living in these areas.
He expressed hope that the executing agencies would complete both projects within the stipulated timeframe and maintain the highest quality standards so that the people of Uri and Sopore receive the durable road infrastructure they have long deserved. (KNS)
