Srinagar, July 19 (KNS): Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Sunday expressed grief over the loss of lives and property caused by incessant rains and flash floods in Rajouri, Poonch and Kishtwar districts of Jammu and Kashmir, and appealed to the administration to intensify rescue and relief efforts.
In a post on X, Mirwaiz said he was "deeply saddened" by the devastation caused by the heavy rains and flash floods, which claimed lives and damaged property in the affected districts.
He urged the administration and rescue agencies to make every possible effort to reach people in distress, ensure their safety, and provide timely relief and shelter.
Praying for the victims, Mirwaiz said, "May Allah protect everyone and grant patience and strength to the families who have lost their loved ones."(KNS).
