Mehboob Beg condemns admin’s act to stop PDP chief from visiting Poonch

Srinagar December 30 (KNS): Mehboob Beg, the General Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir People's Democratic Party (JKPDP), has strongly condemned the barriers imposed on the former Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, preventing her from reaching out to the families of the Poonch victims. Beg expresses deep concern over the unequal treatment meted out, highlighting the stark contrast in permissions granted to other political parties and ministers while sidelining Mufti.

In a fervent tweet, Beg voiced his unequivocal support for Mehbooba Mufti, asserting that he stands with her in the face of this apparent discrimination. The General Secretary emphasized the crucial role that political leaders play in consoling and empathizing with affected communities during times of distress, emphasizing the need for an inclusive approach.

Beg calls for a reevaluation of the decision-making process that led to Mufti's exclusion, urging authorities to reconsider and permit her visit to Poonch. He underscores the fundamental democratic principle that all leaders, irrespective of political affiliations, should be granted equal opportunities to engage with their constituents in times of crisis. As condemnation mounts, Beg's stand amplifies the collective plea for fairness and justice in allowing political leaders access to those in need.(KNS)
