Lt Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurates T20 Police Premier League in Srinagar

Srinagar, Sep 20 (KNS): Lt Governor of UT of J&K today inaugurated Police Premiere League "PLAY FOR PEACE" and the first match was played today at Sher e Kashmir Cricket Stadium Srinagar.
The tournament is organized by Srinagar Police under Civic Action Program and the aim of the endeavour is to engage the budding talent of the district in cricket and to provide them a platform to polish their talent so their game is recognized and appreciated.
On this occasion Governor UT J&K interacted with the various teams and distributed cricket kits among them. Lt Governor has appreciated the efforts put in by J&K Police and especially the hard work of Srinagar Police in engaging youth of the district in positive ways and better fields, so their energies are diverted in right direction and put in the nation building. On the occasion DGP J&K Police in his address highlighted the role of Jammu and Kashmir in organising such events for youth development and further stated that District Police Srinagar is also going to organise "Pedal for Peace"- cycle race for various categories followed by "Jashn e Dal" Program.
SSP Srinagar in his opening remarks, Introduced the gathering about the Policing activities in the District and the aim of the present PPL. He said "we are trying to provide a launching pad to the young and budding talent not only in Cricket but in other Sports and Skills also", as we are striving hard for complete restoration of Peace in the District and all such players become our peace ambassadors.

Haseeb Mughal-JKPS, SP Headquarters Srinagar, All Zonal SsP and SDPO of District Srinagar.
16 teams have already registered in the District and tournament has started today. The matches will be planed on knock out basis. There will two matches in a day. One in morning and other in the afternoon. Todays inagural match was played between Maisuma XI versus R.R.C. Club Rawalpora. in the inagural match R. R. C. Club Rawalpora won by 7 runs.
Cricket lovers are appreciating the efforts of Srinagar Police for promoting the game and encouraging the youth of the City to be part of the change. (KNS)
