Srinagar, Aug 27 (KNS) – The Indian Army-sponsored valley-level volleyball tournament concluded at Sever, Lolab, on Thursday, with Khumriyal Lolab lifting the championship trophy after defeating Badi Bera Lolab in the final.
The month-long tournament, which began on July 17, witnessed participation from 64 teams from across the Lolab Valley, making it one of the largest sporting events in the region this year, officials said.
In the final match played earlier in the day, Khumriyal Lolab edged past Badi Bera Lolab in a keenly contested encounter to claim the top honours and a cash prize of ?50,000.

Organised by the Indian Army as part of its outreach initiatives, the tournament provided a platform for local youth to showcase their sporting talent, officials said. Over several weeks of competitive play, players from different parts of the valley participated, fostering camaraderie and team spirit.
The event, which drew large crowds throughout its duration, reflects the growing enthusiasm for organised sports among the youth in the region, they added. (KNS)
