Srinagar, Jul 22 (KNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday reviewed the ground situation in districts affected by heavy rains, flash floods and landslides across Jammu and Kashmir, directing officials to intensify rescue operations and strengthen preparedness in vulnerable areas.

The Lieutenant Governor assessed the ongoing relief efforts being carried out by district administrations, SDRF, NDRF, J&K Police, the Indian Army, BRO, NHAI and other line departments.

In a post on X, LG Sinha said he was briefed on the relief and restoration measures underway and directed authorities to intensify rescue operations. He noted that joint operations are continuing in the flood-affected districts of Poonch and Rajouri, while more than 400 damaged roads in the Jammu Division have already been restored.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The Lieutenant Governor also instructed officials to position manpower and machinery at safe and strategic locations near vulnerable areas to ensure an immediate response in case of emergencies. He further directed the timely dissemination of public advisories, urging citizens to avoid unnecessary travel in high-risk zones.

LG Sinha said he also spoke with the Deputy Commissioner Ramban regarding the tragic shooting stones incident that claimed two lives. He expressed condolences to the bereaved families, prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured, and directed the district administration to ensure the best possible medical care and extend all necessary support to the affected families.
