Srinagar, July 29 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Thursday reached Botakadal area of Srinagar to take part in Zuljinah procession of on the eve of 10th Muharam, also known as Youm-e-Ashoora.

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that amid tight security cover, LG Sinha reached Bota Kadal area and met the Shia community, who have gathered there to take out the procession on the occasion of Youm-e-Ashoora.

On this day Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was martyred in Karbala along with 70 family members and companions.

Shia community expressed gratitude to LG Sinha for allowing the Muharram processions from traditional routes after over 3 decades.

It may be noted that KNS had exclusively reported on Friday that LG Sinha will likely take part in Zuljinah procession at Bota Kadal today. (KNS)
