Srinagar, Oct 31(KNS): Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha on Tuesday initiated the 'Run for Unity' in Srinagar to commemorate Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary.

Sinha highlighted the soaring presence of the tricolor in the global sports arena. He praised the emergence of accomplished athletes from rural areas, emphasizing their exceptional achievements in international competitions.

He expressed confidence in the nation's growing sports resurgence, citing recent victories at the Asian Games and Asian Para Games as catalysts for aspiring to excel further at the Olympics.

Furthermore, Sinha underlined Jammu and Kashmir's fresh venture into sports development. He mentioned plans for nurturing a robust sports culture, including the establishment of adequate infrastructure, integrating sports into the educational curriculum, facilitating access to expert coaching, and offering opportunities for talented individuals throughout the Union Territory.(KNS).
