LG Lauds Peaceful and Prosperous Environment in J&K on 4th anniversary of Article 370 abrogation

Srinagar, Aug 05 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir's Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, marked the 4th anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370 with commendations for the transformative changes it has brought to the Union Territory (UT).

He stated that the people are now living freely and peacefully, with ample opportunities for the youth to flourish in various fields.

Speaking to reporters during his visit to SKICC Srinagar for certificate distribution to BSE trained candidates, appointment letters to Anganwadi Workers, and support aids to specially-abled individuals, the LG Manoj Sinha highlighted the prevailing atmosphere of peace in the region. He asserted that the days of street violence, stone pelting, and extended school and college closures are now a thing of the past.

"Today every citizen of J&K is living with peace," said the LG, praising the citizens for embracing a peaceful life. He noted a remarkable shift in the region's social dynamics, with people now confidently spending their evenings outside in markets and parks, rather than rushing home at sunset as before.

The abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, led to the reorganization of the erstwhile state of J&K into two UTs, Ladakh and J&K. The LG attributed the visible positive changes on the ground to the failure of Pakistan-backed propaganda, emphasizing that the people have wholeheartedly embraced peace.

"The biggest change is visible on the ground as people are living freely after so many decades," declared Manoj Sinha, recognizing the significance of the achievement. However, he also expressed optimism, stating that this was only the beginning of the UT's progress

In his commitment to empowering the youth, the LG shared the initiatives taken under the mission youth. He revealed that the J&K administration has joined forces with the Mumbai Stock Exchange to provide more opportunities for young people to excel in various fields. As a result, hundreds of youth are now actively shaping their future and showcasing their talents.(KNS)
