Labour department holds awareness event to mark National Pension Week

 Jammu, March 09:(KNS)  To mark the celebration of National Pension Week under Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojna as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahostav, Department of Labour, J&K, today organized a mega event for the awareness and registration under the said scheme.

The event was held in Government Polytechnic College Vikram Chowk and was presided by Abdul Rashid War Labour Commissioner J&K, accompanied by Vinakshi Koul, Deputy Labour Commissioner, Jammu and Ritu Jamwal Principal Govt. Polytechnic Jammu.
At the onset, Devia Nanda, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Jammu welcomed the guests followed by the deliberation about the Pension Scheme meant for the un-organized workers.
 
A Nukkad Natak by Sangam Team was presented to convey the audience the importance of availing the pension scheme.
The Chief Guest urged to the participants which included the ITI pass outs, those pursuing the 6-months diploma courses in various trades and representatives of various labour unions, to timely avail the pension scheme for a secured old age. He also emphasized on ‘Donate-a-pension’ module where employers can donate one month to one year pension premium at one stretch for their employees.
He appealed to the eligible un-organized workers in the age group of 18-40 years to get enrolled for Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Mandhan Yojna through nearest CSC centres by paying a monthly premium of Rs. 55 to Rs. 200 and on maturity can receive a minimum pension of Rs. 3000/- per month. Also, PYMSYM cards were distributed among the beneficiaries who got themselves registered on the spot (KNS)
