Kupwara man who died yesterday tested positive for Covid-19

Srinagar, June 02, (KNS): A 27-year old young man of Lolab area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district who died yesterday, tested positive of Covid-19 on Tuesday morning at Sri Maharaja Hari Singh Hospital (SMHS) Srinagar, taking the overall toll across J&K to 33.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), the patient namely Nazir Ahmad Wani was admitted in the hospital on June 1, 2020 with Bilateral Pneumonia with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) and died within hour of admission after tested positive for Covid-19.

Wani, who was working as a store keeper in CA&PD department, had developed fever and was shifted to DH Handwara first where from he was referred to SHMS Hospital for advanced treatment.

Dr Saleem Khan, Nodal Officer for Corona Virus confirmed the death of young man due to Covid-19 and said “Body will be handed over to family and he will be buried as per Covid-19 protocol. (KNS)
