Srinagar, Dec 16 (KNS): In a significant development, a joint operation conducted by the Special Task Force (STF) and local police officials fraudster who was impersonating as PMO official, Doctor and Army Officer Arrested with Suspected Anti-National Links in Neulpur, Dharmshala, Jajpur, Odisha,
"Identified as Sayed Ishaan Bukhari, alias Ishaan Bukhari, alias Dr. Ishaan Bukhari, a 37-year-old resident of Handwara was taken into custody for charges related to impersonation, cheating, forgery, and alleged links with anti-national elements, as per the STF case no 31/2023 under sections 419, 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, and 120(B) of the IPC, read with Section 66 C/66 D of the IT Act, 2000," reads an official statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS).
"During the raid, a substantial amount of incriminating evidence was seized, including over 100 documents. Investigations revealed that Bukhari had been impersonating as a Neuro Specialist Doctor, an Army Doctor, an officer in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), and a close associate of high-ranking NIA officials," it said.
Among the confiscated items were forged documents, including a medical degree certificate from Cornel University, USA, as well as from the Canadian Health Services Institute and Christian Medical College, Vellore. Blank signed documents, affidavits, bonds, numerous identity cards, ATM cards, blank cheques, Aadhar cards, visiting cards, and more were also discovered.
Further unraveling the elaborate web of deceit, it was discovered that Bukhari had allegedly married at least 6-7 women from different parts of India, maintaining romantic relationships with numerous others through various websites and apps, posing as an internationally educated doctor.
The investigation also unveiled connections between the accused and suspicious individuals in Kerala, along with alleged communication with Pakistani nationals. Moreover, it was disclosed that Bukhari is wanted by the Kashmir Police in connection to a cheating and forgery case, with a non-bailable warrant pending against him.(KNS)
