Beerwah, July 22 (KNS) : A high level delegation of the Kashmir Traders & Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) led by its President Mohammad Yaseen Khan today visited Beerwah to express solidarity with traders affected by the devastating flash floods that caused widespread destruction in the town.
KTMF delegation inspected the damaged market area where several shops suffered extensive losses and an entire shopping complex was swept away by the force of the floodwaters. The delegation interacted with the affected traders and assured them of KTMF’s unwavering support during this difficult time.
During the visit KTMF delegation held an interaction with the Beerwah Local Traders Federation and its office bearers to take stock of the situation and understand the immediate concerns of the business community. The Federation led by its President Mohammad Irshad apprised the delegation of the extensive losses suffered by traders due to the flash floods including the destruction of shops, merchandise and business infrastructure. Assuring the local traders of KTMF’s full support President Mohammad Yaseen Khan said the Federation would vigorously pursue the matter with the Government to ensure timely relief, adequate compensation and a comprehensive rehabilitation package for all affected traders
He also applauded the prompt and courageous role of the local police in rescuing traders and helping them move to safety during the flood situation.

Khan emphasised that small traders are the backbone of the local economy and deserve timely financial assistance to help them restart their businesses. The delegation reiterated that KTMF will continue to pursue the matter with the administration to ensure that genuine traders receive adequate compensation and all possible support for the restoration of their livelihoods.
The delegation comprised senior KTMF functionary Qazi Tauseef, President Narbal Traders Association Mohammad Muzaffar, Patron Narbal Traders Association Abdul Ahad Parray, President Magam Traders Federation Mir Ulfat , General Secretary Magam Traders Federation Ajaz Abdullah, Senior member Magam Traders Federation Manzoor Ahmad Dar, President Shalteng Traders Association Bilal Ahmad Dar and others who also expressed their solidarity with the affected traders and assured them of KTMF’s continued support.
KTMF prayed for the well-being of all those affected and reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the interests of the trading community across Jammu and Kashmir. (KNS)
