Jammu, Jul 24 (KNS): A delegation of Kashmiri Pandit leaders on Friday met the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, Jammu and Kashmir, and urged the administration to address a range of issues concerning displaced members of the community.

The delegation, led by senior Kashmiri Pandit leader M K Yogi and Vishwa Kashmir Samaj General Secretary M K Yogi, along with Jammu and Kashmir Displaced Kashmiri Pandit Front president Vinod Pandita, called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner Dr Arvind Karwani at his office here.

During the meeting, the delegation sought early redressal of several pending issues, including revalidation of old migrant registration cards, issuance of non-migrant certificates to eligible candidates applying for recently advertised posts, allotment of accommodation to PM Package employees living in rented houses, and resolution of grievances related to migrant land.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The leaders also demanded construction of residential quarters at Purkhoo, restoration of cash in lieu of ration, allotment of pending shops in Jagti township, repair and renovation of migrant quarters damaged in recent rains, regular supply of drinking water, and improvement in sanitation and hygiene in migrant camps.

They urged the commissioner to take a humanitarian view of the issues and ensure their early resolution.

Karwani gave the delegation a patient hearing and assured them that necessary steps would be taken to address the grievances, the leaders said.

According to the delegation, some individual grievances were resolved on the spot during the meeting.

The delegation also included Vishal Jotshi, Vinod Kumar, Sachet Labroo, Shubam Labroo, Kuldeep Kumar Tickoo and Shuban Bhat.(KNS).
