KNS News Impact: Horticulture Department Visits North Kashmir, Interacts With Farmers, Orchardists

Handwara, June 05, (KNS): Officials of Department of Horticulture on Friday visited orchards of Mawer and Langate areas of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district and took stock of the situation.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), joint teams of KVK and Horticulture visited the areas and interacted with the farmers and fruit growers and suggested several key measures for safeguarding crops from scab and other diseases.
Notably KNS few days ago published a news report wherein people of the said areas complained that none of the official from the concern department visited the area.
Taking strong note of news report published by KNS, the teams visited several villages including Audoora, Drungusoo, Shahnagri and adjoining areas and talked on several key issues pertaining to orchardists and farmers. They advised locals how to safeguard crops during unfavorable weather.
Those visited in the area includes Chief Horticulture Officer (CHO) Kupwara Farooq Ahmad, KVK head Dr Sajad, Dr Firdous, Dr Aijaz, Dr Shazia, HDO Handwara Abdul Hameed and Firdous Ahmad. (KNS)
