GCs glory to be restored soon, says CEO

Gulmarg, July 06 (KNS): Authorities of Gulmarg Development Authority resumed maintenance work on Gulmarg golf course after sports loving people and visitors raised concern.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), GDA officials resumed maintenance work on Golf course located in the laps of lush green mountains of Gulmarg, the famous ski resort, after several quarters of society raised hue and cry over apethetic outlook of concerned authority.

Earlier KNS, a news gathering agency reported that the said Golf course was abandoned by authories after spending crores of rupees resulting it into a garbage site. The millions worth machinery procured for the bautification of Golf course was also turned into rusty.

CEO Gulmarg Development Authority Inam-ul-Haq told KNS that due to last year's political uncertainty followed by Covid-19 scare, the maintenance work on the said Golf course could not resume. But now we are initiating the maintenance work and have pressed men and machinery into service.

CEO assured that hopefully in coming 15-20 days, the glory of Golf course will be revived. He added if situation remains favorable, we will introduce national as well as international Golf tournaments here. (KNS)
