Srinagar, April 14 (KNS): Former minister and senior National Conference leader Mr Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo today urged the Jammu and Kashmir Administration to arrange special buses for the people of Kishtwar district, stranded in Jammu and Srinagar, due to lockdown in the wake of pandemic corona virus.

According to statement issued to KNS, The former minister said a lot of people including students and patients, who had been to the twin capitals before the lockdown have got stuck up and are in a pitiable condition. He particularly made a reference of those who had ventured out of their homes for various pursuits and got stranded at various places following the announcement of lockdown from 25 March.

“Now that the lockdown has been further extended till May 3, 2020, the miseries of these stranded people will further add up”, Mr Kichloo said, hoping that the administration will take a compassionate and humanitarian view on this unprecedented situation. He said he has been receiving consistent distress calls from these people who are far away from their homes without food, other essentials and money.

“Thousands of poor labourers are also living in pathetic conditions on the roads with no basic amenities”, the former minister said and called for immediate reach out to these segments of society for immediate sustenance besides arranging transport for their safe return back home. (KNS)
