Srinagar, Nov 25 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik on Friday said father of true journalism in Kashmir Khawaja Sanaullah Bhat Aftab was a shining start of our journalistic history. He was a historical personality whose social and literary works will always be written in Golden words.
Representing JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, JKLF leaders including vice chairman Mushtaq Ajmal, senior leaders Javed Zargar, Zahoor Ahmad Butt, Muhammad Jamal and others today visited the graveyard of great journalist and participated in congregational prayers for him.
JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik while recalling his close association with Khwaja sahib said that he was like a fatherly person to him and always remained at his back in odd times.
In a statement issued to KNS, JKLF chairman said that Khawaja Sanaullah Butt was a brave, fearless, and straight forward person, a dynamic and fearless writer and patriot. He always wrote what he thought was right and fruitful for the society. He never wrote to please anybody or for getting any personal benefits.
Yasin Malik said that Khawja loved Allah and his heart was full of love for Prophet Muhammad (SAW). He said that he encouraged and taught the new generation of Kashmiris, provided them knowledge and educated them to serve society. This is his biggest contribution to this oppressed nation and today while we observe his day and remember him, we need to introspect and try to adhere to the high principles and standards set by the great intellectual and saint.
JKLF chairman said that today while recalling his services we all need to know that who is a writer? What is his duty towards the society? And how can he or she serve his or her nation better? He said that Khawaja Sahibs life teaches us that a writer and an intellectual is who stands for the truth and writes and speaks what is in the interests of his nation.
Yasin Malik said that today truth is the biggest casualty and victim in Kashmir. We are living in conflict zone where many do not dare to speak truth. Rulers try to intimidate writers and papers as has been done with English daily Kashmir Reader which has been banned recently. In a situation like this a person who stands for the truth and always keeps his pen in support of truth is a true intellectual and writer, JKLF chief said. He asserted that Khawaja Sanaullah was a writer who had courage to stand for the truth in worst situations.
He said that a person who serves his people and leaves better legacy for them is always remembered by nations and Khawaja sahib was such a person. Yasin Malik also prayed for the heavenly abode for Khawaja sahib and prayed to Allah almighty for a better substitute of him.
Meanwhile representing JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, JKLF leaders including vice chairman Mushtaq Ajmal, senior leaders Javed Zargar, Zahoor Ahmad Butt, Muhammad Jamal and others participated in congregational prayers for Khawaja Sanaullah Bhat.
